…and that’s a wrap on the 2016 CrossFit Games Opens!! Congratulations to everyone who completed each of the 5 weeks of extremely challenging workouts. There were amazing performances every week and it was easy to just stand back and watch the incredible CrossFit Redline community bloom and do what it does; rally around its members and support them in every possible way. Scores are still being inputted and calculated but as of right now it looks like our own Talayna Fortunate has secured herself another trip to Regionals so be sure to give her a high five when you see her at the box.
The end of the Opens also signifies our return to regular programming (whatever that means). If, you sustained any injuries during the Open, or simply just feeling a little sluggish since finishing 16.5, don’t dive right back into training full steam ahead. Give yourself an addition few days to recover. Not just to recover muscularly to where you’re no longer sore, but also to recover your nervous system which can take a beating training like we do. If the bar just heavy today, you’re having a tough time warming up, or are “not feeling it today” that’s a sign you need to back it down a bit. Don’t make the mistake of disregarding your body’s way of telling you it’s not ready to go hard.
